Poste Italiane closed 2023 with revenues up 5.4% to 12 billion euros, net profit up 22.1% to 1.9 billion euros and record earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) of 2.62 billion euros (+9.4% over 2022), according to preliminary results posted on Thursday .
The growth in revenues was due in part to "solid contributions from payments and financial services", said the postal, financial and telecommunications services company.
Ebit was more than double the level in 2027 and in line with the 2023 guidance of 2.6 billion euros. In the mail, parcels and distribution business unit revenues were up 2.6% to 3.7 billion euros.
In light of the results, the group has proposed a dividend increase of 0.80 euro per share to a total of 1 billion euro, up23% on 2022.
