More men and women do not have jobs in the country.
The unemployment rate climbs to 7.1 percent.
Saarbrücken - The number of unemployed people in Saarland has increased slightly.
In February, 37,200 women and men were unemployed, 300 or 0.9 percent more than in January, as the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency announced on Thursday in Saarbrücken.
The unemployment rate was 7.1 percent in February after 7.0 percent in January.
Compared to February of the previous year, 1,600 or 4.4 percent more people were unemployed in Saarland.
According to the regional directorate, the unemployment rate was 6.8 percent a year ago.
The deadline for collecting February data was February 14th.
