Sorting of bio-waste: we are looking for tourism professionals for an experiment in the Pays Royannais

In 2022, Aurélie Aubergeon, employee of the Terre d'éveils association which leads actions in favor of compost in Charente-Maritime, attends a workshop organized by the Royan Atlantique Urban Community (Cara).

“The restaurateurs’ concerns were significant,” recognizes the young woman.

We therefore imagined a prototype composter for a restaurateur on the island of Oléron and created a company, Natura Lien, to market our products.

Winner of the Tina call for projects (Innovative Tourism in New Aquitaine), Natura Lien, with the support of Ademe and the Interfilière for sustainable tourism in New Aquitaine, is looking for volunteers from the world of tourism to test shared compost plots.

Financial assistance will be provided to participants and the remainder will be 7% of the amounts committed.

“The idea is to connect campsites and holiday villages, which have space, with restaurateurs or hoteliers to compost on shared sites,” continues Aurélie Aubergeon.

The test period will last one year starting this spring 2024 with two groups of four professionals.

In the interest of preserving the environment, the different establishments must not be more than 2 km apart and biowaste transported by gentle mobility.

Enrick Poitevin, president of the open-air hotel association in Pays Royannais, is following the operation.

“In our country, 80% of campsites have composters.

We agree to accept the bio-waste from our restaurant neighbors if everything is done according to the rules of the art.
