It was around two o'clock in the morning when several hooded men climbed the gate of the host's property in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
They try to get inside the house but are put to flight by Jean-Luc Reichmann's son.
The criminals rushed into an Audi A3 and drove off, almost hitting the car of a crew from the anti-crime brigade (BAC).
The police set out in pursuit of the vehicle through the wealthy towns of Hauts-de-Seine: Neuilly, Levallois… The police lost track of the suspects for a while before finding their car abandoned on rue du Havre, in Épinay -on the Seine.
The hooded men were found shortly after and arrested.
All five are currently in police custody for
“criminal conspiracy to commit a crime”
and
“attempted intentional homicide of a person holding public authority”
.
Investigations are continuing, carried out by the reception and local investigation service (SAIP) of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
