The
Automotive Tram Union (UTA)
announced a
bus strike
for this Tuesday in the interior of the country, demanding salary improvements.
It will be for 24 hours.
"After two months of hearing at the National Ministry of Labor,
no salary offer has been made
," explained the UTA through a statement they released after the last meeting, after 2:20 p.m.
"In response to this, we inform that the adoption of a union action measure has been resolved, consisting of a 24-hour strike, during the entire day of Tuesday, March 5, 2024," the union continued.
And they concluded: "As we expressed it,
the conflict will deepen due to the inaction
of the actors in this process, whether businessmen and national, provincial and municipal authorities, upon expiration of the mandatory conciliation period."
The measure of force was also reported by the counterpart of the joint negotiations, the
Argentine Association of Automotive Transport Entrepreneurs (AAETA)
.
"The hearing at the Ministry of Labor between the employers of groups in the interior of the country and the UTA ended. There was no agreement and the mandatory conciliation ended. UTA calls for a 24-hour strike for next March 5," they indicated from that entity. .
According to the detail that AAETA disclosed, when the UTA announced at the hearing that it would call for a strike, an "acting official" urged "the parties to make extreme efforts in order to bring together positions that overcome the differences raised and explore consensus alternatives."
The Ministry of Labor, meanwhile, set a new virtual hearing for Thursday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m., "in order to monitor the state of the situation and continue with the negotiations."
