The immersive Willy Wonka experience in the end was not as good as the company that organized it promised.

It was a total fiasco: there wasn't even any chocolate.

Willy's Chocolate Experience was an event held on February 24 in Glasgow, Scotland, in tribute to Roald Dahl's famous novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and the films starring Gene Wilder, Johnny Depp and Timothée Chalamet.

According to the organization that carried it out, House of Illuminati, in the Box-Hub event space there were going to be “chocolate fountains, Oompa-Loompas performances and interactive experiences inspired by the universe of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Most of the visuals and attractions would be created using AI.

The entrance fee of up to 44 euros ensured an unforgettable experience.

The children's parents asked for the money to be refunded.

A disappointment: there was not even chocolate

The company delivered: the experience was unforgettable, but on the contrary.

The site was not as the AIs promised.

According to one of those affected, there were only about 20 chairs, “a couple of tables” and “a half-inflated bouncy castle” at the site.

“There wasn't even chocolate,” this person said.

Through a Vulture article it was learned that the children only received “a few jelly beans” and “a quarter cup of lemonade.”

The Oompa-Loompas, those famous assistants of the chocolatier Willy Wonka, were played by actors dressed in poor quality costumes that left much to be desired.

They read a 15-page script - given to them the night before - that had probably been written by an artificial intelligence.

Kirsty Paterson, a 29-year-old actress who agreed to work as an Oompa-Loompa for £500 for both days, said the children “were quite upset and confused”.

The invitation on the company's website that has since been deleted.

Because his script was so bad, one of the organizers told him to abandon the script and just let the guests move forward.

Outraged by the scam, some of the parents who went to the event with their children called the police to cancel the event and refund their money.

The organization, knowing of the disaster, ended the show before the end of the first day.

The quintessential viral photo of the show.

Later, and in response to the fierce impact on networks, the company issued a statement acknowledging how poorly it did its job.

“We apologize for what happened and we will refund the full amount of the tickets to each and every person who purchased them.”
