Donald Trump is trying to prevent his trial for storming the Capitol.

Now he is celebrating partial success.

Washington - Donald Trump has once again succeeded in delaying the start of the trial against him: The Supreme Court accepted Trump's appeal on Wednesday (February 28, local time) on the question of immunity from prosecution.

It's about whether the Republican can even be prosecuted for certain actions during his term as president.

The court scheduled the hearing for April 22nd.

It is therefore unclear whether and when the politically significant trial against Trump can begin.

The decision by the US highest court is remarkable because before Trump, no US president had been impeached for actions that he is said to have committed while in office.

Of the new justices on the Supreme Court, six are considered conservative, three of whom were appointed by Trump himself.
