Two complaints for
“acts of a sexual nature”
were filed against Cannes choreographer Bruno Vandelli, we learned Thursday from the Grasse public prosecutor's office, confirming information from the daily
Le Parisien.
The second of these complaints was filed recently, according to the prosecution, which refused to provide any further details on these complaints targeting the 62-year-old choreographer, co-founder of the “Espace 2 Vandelli-Masson” dance school in Cannes, and who was notably a juror on the show “Popstars 2” on M6 in 2002.
According to
Le Parisien
, it comes from the mother of a teenager, a student in Bruno Vandelli's school, accusing him of sexual assault.
“I have never had bad intentions,” Bruno Vandelli defended himself
In January, one of his former students, Yanis Marshall, himself a former dance teacher on the show “Star Academy” on TF1, announced in the press that he had filed a complaint against Bruno Vandelli for “
rape”
and
“corruption minor”
, for facts dating back to his adolescence.
He assured on January 20 on BFMTV that he had collected testimonies from other young dancers and that they had
“all been manipulated by him (Bruno Vandelli) in the same way”
.
In an interview with the regional daily Nice-Matin on January 24, Bruno Vandelli declared himself
“devastated by the lies and slander”
after these accusations from Yanis Marshall, recognizing a relationship with his former student, described as
“a story of love”
consented according to him, and suggesting that it had taken place when the young dancer was 16 years old, and he was 44.
Asked about
“suspicious gestures”
mentioned more recently by another student, he declared that
“certain gestures may have been clumsy, could have been misinterpreted, but I have never had bad intentions”
.
