A ballet of buses with deputies and senators on board, police cars, traffic restrictions... This Monday, the surroundings of the Palace of Versailles, closed to the public that day, will be placed under close surveillance.
The South wing will accommodate the 925 parliamentarians summoned to the congress.
They must vote for the inclusion of voluntary termination of pregnancy (abortion) in the constitution.
To ensure the safety of this major event, parking restrictions have been put in place and some are effective from today.
It is prohibited to park from this Thursday evening until Monday, March 4, 8 p.m., rue de l'Indépendante Amérique, Rue Saint-Julien, Pierre de Nolhac and des Récollets (between rue Pierre de Nolhac and rue Saint-Julien).
Traffic will also be prohibited on these roads between Sunday 6 a.m. and Monday 9 p.m.
From Sunday March 3, 8 p.m. and until Monday March 4, 9 p.m., Place Gambetta, Rues Robert de Cotte de la Chancellerie, Avenues de Sceaux (between Avenue Rockefeller and Avenue du Général de Gaulle ), Saint-Cloud (from avenue Rockefeller towards avenue de l'Europe) and Paris (between avenues de l'Europe and Rockefeller), must be cleared of all vehicles.
Parked cars will be removed and impounded.

On the day of the congress, between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., the streets
des Récollets and de la Chancellerie, Avenues Nepveu Sud (in the direction Rockefeller towards Pierre de Nolhac), Rockefeller (between avenue de Paris and avenue de Sceaux in both directions) and de Sceaux (between avenue du General de Gaulle and Avenue Rockefeller) will be closed to traffic.
The last time the Congress was convened in Versailles was on July 9, 2018 for a declaration by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on the reforms carried out since the start of his presidency and the priorities for the following years of his mandate.
