This question had to be answered in 1923. On the occasion of the first modern Olympic Games organized in the capital in 1924, the Olympic committee decided that the organizers should provide “accommodation, bedding and food” .

The project was launched in February 1923 and a company under the control of the French Olympic committee was specially created.

The idea of ​​an “Olympic village”, right next to the Yves-du-Manoir stadium, is on track.

But at the end of 1923 nothing had come of the ground.

“We then considered a plan B. The alternative solution consisted of installing railway carriages near the site and making it a sort of hotel on rails,” recalls Christine Dessemme, the curator of the art and museum museum. history of Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine).
