A few days after her husband's alleged murder, she announced in a video message that she wanted to continue her husband's political fight.

The content of Navalnaya's speech is likely to be about supporting political prisoners in Russia.
MEPs, the Commission and the Belgian Presidency will then discuss the need for EU action in this regard.
A resolution is scheduled to be voted on Thursday.

Julia Navalnaya: She wants to continue the fight of her late husband Alexei Navalny
Alexei's wife had increasingly withdrawn into her private life since the birth of their son.
Yulia Navalnaya never aspired to a political career, she stated in media reports.
Nevertheless, she and her husband belonged to the social-liberal Yabloko party in Russia for a few years in the early 2000s.
Politics or the resistance against Putin and the autocratic Russian regime always seemed to connect the two.
