“The Big Hit Anniversary” was actually supposed to be recorded with Florian Silbereisen.
However, MDR surprised the presenter with a special episode to celebrate his 20-year show career.
Leipzig – This probably came as a surprise even to the moderator: The recording of “The Big Hit Anniversary” quickly became a show on February 29, 2024 in Leipzig that revolved around Florian Silbereisen (42) himself.
The show career of the pop singer, actor and presenter, which has now spanned 20 years, was celebrated.
Prominent star visits to Florian Silbereisen's anniversary show
Silbereisen was prepared for one of the “Feste” shows, for which he will be in front of the camera for MDR in 2024 after a long period of uncertainty.
Numerous colleagues and friends of the pop star then appeared on the show to congratulate him on 20 years in show business.
The prominent visitors included presenter Barbara Schöneberger (49) and Joko Winterscheidt (45), who plays Silbereisen's brother in his TV role on the ZDF "Dream Ship".
Fellow singers Howard Carpendale (78), Marianne Rosenberg (68) and US singer Anastacia (55) also appeared in person in Leipzig.
From the political side, Saxony-Anhalt's Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff insisted on surprising the showmaster with congratulations.
“There has never been a show like this before, in which a presenter is surprised with a complete show in his own show,” said MDR entertainment director Peter Dreckmann to DWDL.
Florian Silbereisen's moderation at the “Schlagerjubilee” was unclear for a long time
There was speculation about Florian Silbereisen's casting in the "Schlagerjubilee" shows until the beginning of the current year.
Then the promise came.
The MDR entertainment director relies on the pop singer as a guarantee of success, as he says in the interview.
With Silbereisen, they have always dared to do something new, reached new target groups and new stations: “We have staged and celebrated the hit with completely new formats and concepts, such as the 'Schlagerboom', in a way that it has never been staged before on German television was celebrated.”
Florian Silbereisen is always prepared for his shows, like here in January 2024 in Berlin at the “Schlagerchampions”.

The episode will be broadcast on March 16th at 8:15 p.m. on ARD and ORF under the title “The big hit surprise for Florian Silbereisen”.
There has also been repeated speculation about Florian Silbereisen's private life and a romance with the Austrian singer Melissa Naschenweng (33).
