Full of anticipation for the strong beer festival with political derbleckn: Part of the “Stammwürze” troupe around club chairwoman Claudia Herdrich (back middle).

Penzberg local politics as a big circus: That was the topic at the strong beer tapping last year.

Of course, what will happen at Derbleckn this year will not be revealed - except for one detail: an essential part will be the "Ultras", who are considered particularly fanatical football fans.

Advance ticket sales begin on Friday, March 8th.

Penzberg - Penzberg city life as a large circus arena with clowns in the town hall, a head of the cultural department as a circus director and a magician who conjures up everything that the people of Penzberg want in their city: Last year's Derbleckn was brought by the “Stammwürze” group from the Oberlandler Volkstheater After the Corona break, a live show took to the stage for the first time, which thrilled the audience with an amusing and fast-paced musical performance and a biting, pointed speech by brother Stefanus (Stefan Köbler).

At that time, Köbler stood in for Rainer Hofmann, alias Brother Servatius.

Brother Servatius returns to the stage - with support

This year, reveals Claudia Herdrich, chairwoman of the Oberlandler Volkstheater, Hofmann will return to the stage as Brother Servatius - but no longer alone.

“He gets support.” From whom?

This is just as difficult to elicit from Herdrich during the conversation at the tapping of the strong beer as this year's theme of the Singspiel.

She only reveals this much: “It’s about the ultras.” And they can “usually” be found in the football stadium.

Herdrich leaves it open whether this will also be the case in Penzberg.

Hanni with Bengal fire

The fact that these fan groups are an issue at the Penzberger Derbleckn this year can also be seen on the poster: it shows the Penzberger mascot Hanni wearing a sweater with the words “Ultras” emblazoned on it.

The sheep holds two Bengal fires in its hand.

Herdrich says that the “Stammwürze” group began writing the texts for Derbleckn last fall.

In addition, four songs were written by themselves.

And the Singspiel has been rehearsing under her direction since January.

17 actors will ensure that the audience has a lot of fun again this year with the singing play and Lenten sermon.

About ten people will be working behind the stage to ensure everything runs smoothly.

A particular challenge was the elaborate stage design

The elaborate stage design is a particular challenge, reveals Herdrich.

We've been working on it for about three weeks.

What does it represent?

Also top secret.

Only initiated members of the troupe are allowed into the rehearsal room on Winterstrasse, where it is currently being built.

She only makes an exception for the press photo.

However, looking around the room is strictly forbidden.

Local political issues in focus

Traditionally, the Derbleckn in Penzberg, which will last around one and a half hours this year, will once again focus on local political issues.

But there won't be a big shake-off of local celebrities.

What is presented on stage “is more of anecdotes,” says Herdrich.

About what and who?

Feel free to make assumptions about this.

But she doesn't reveal anything here either.

Just this much: the focus is once again on the city's politicians and administrative employees.

Incidentally, the “Stammwürze” troupe will not be discussing the recent debate about the felling of the lime trees on Bahnhofstrasse when they tap the strong beer.

You can't joke about a tree where a person died, emphasizes Herdrich.

What is important to her: Anyone who wants to watch the Derbleckn can do so.

She keeps hearing that you can't get any tickets.

But that's not true, she emphasizes.

There are enough tickets every year, especially for the performance on Sunday.

Advance ticket sales and three performances

The premiere is on Friday, March 15th, at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.).

All performances take place in the town hall.

Tickets for the premiere are available in advance (without catering) on Friday, March 8th, at 5 p.m. in the rehearsal stage on Winterstrasse.

Further screenings will take place on Saturday, March 16th, 7 p.m. (doors 6 p.m.) and Sunday, March 17th, 11 a.m. (doors 10 a.m.).
