Just a shell: gutted and without heating, the empty Hotel Bachmair am See cannot currently accommodate guests or refugees.

The SPD's proposal to accommodate asylum seekers in the empty Bachmair by the lake caused outrage in the district council.
At the same time, the district administrator left no doubt that refugee accommodation would come to Warngau.
District
– District Administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU) firmly assumes that the asylum accommodation in Warngau will come as planned.
“I will try with all my might to implement this,” he made clear to the district council.
The SPD got a bloody nose with its proposal to acquire the empty Hotel Bachmair am See in Rottach-Egern as refugee accommodation.
“Showcase proposal!” raged the other factions.
Renovation of former luxury hotel delayed indefinitely
“We have to get the gyms open again as quickly as possible,” said SPD parliamentary group spokeswoman Christine Negele, justifying the move regarding Bachmair.
She learned from the current reporting that the renovation was being delayed indefinitely.
Temporary use could therefore also be in the interests of Hirmer Immobilien GmbH.
“In Bad Wiessee there were already similar interim uses in hotels near the lake,” recalled Negele.
“This took place without any significant incidents or negative impacts on tourism.”
Mayor speaks of a “sensitive area”
Rottach's mayor Christian Köck (CSU) seemed almost to burst.
“Decency would have required us to first contact the owner or the municipality and clarify the matter before submitting such an application,” he complained.
The Bachmair am See - gutted and without heating - is completely unsuitable for accommodation.
“That doesn’t work at all,” he clarified.
Mayor Reiter would thank you if refugees could be accommodated in an empty property on Munich's Maximilianstrasse.

Seestrasse, with its high-quality shops, is a sensitive area for tourism, and the neighboring guesthouses are already under pressure due to the construction sites.
“At some point the limit is reached,” said Köck.
“Mayor Reiter would thank you if refugees could be accommodated in an empty property on Maximilianstrasse in Munich.”
Searching for accommodation is a matter for the administration
Rottach FW district councilor Josef Bogner spoke of a “showcase application”: “We should have talked to those affected beforehand.” Martin Walch (SPD) rejected this.
It is not his group's job to negotiate with the owner.
They just wanted to give a suggestion.
“An extraordinary situation requires extraordinary measures,” he argued.
“We have to seize every opportunity.” Robert Wiechmann (Greens) saw it differently.
It is the responsibility of the district administration, not the district council, to find suitable accommodation.
Every elected official, on the other hand, is responsible for ensuring that accommodation solutions are found in their municipality.

Josef Lechner (CSU) shook his head at the argument.
“There are so many destructive forces right now that we cannot allow ourselves to be divided,” he warned.
The hotel is a ruin and the SPD proposal is simply sloppy.
“It just encourages people to attack each other,” Lechner said.
“We should rather reassure the citizens.”
District administrator sees no alternative to accommodation in Warngau
At least in Warngau that could be difficult.
At the meeting, District Administrator Löwis left no doubt that the refugee accommodation would be on district-owned property at Vivo.
Even though Leonhard Obermüller (CSU) spoke of a heated atmosphere in the town and sees the community overwhelmed by the size of the project.
“I understand the district, but we should reduce the size and promote decentralized accommodation,” demanded the Warngau deputy mayor.
Löwis let his party friend drain.
“I can only underline the appeal for solidarity, but it is pressing,” he said.
150 objects are being examined, half of which have already been eliminated.
He sees no alternative to accommodation in Warngau.
“I always hear that we support you,” said the district administrator, “but not with us.”
