Sweet Duck: funny name for a chocolatier!

Named thus in the 1960s, the small shop on rue Carnot, in Levallois (Hauts-de-Seine), did not change its name in 1989 when Corinne Arias took over the artisanal chocolate business, which has since become a real local institution.

“My grandparents were bakers in Levallois and my parents were chocolatiers in Morzine (Haute-Savoie), in the Alps,” explains Corinne who tried to escape the family tradition by studying nursing, but who been “caught up” by this passion for craftsmanship.

Passion has since been passed on to her daughter Marie, 33, who fell into chocolate as a child and joined her mother in the laboratory shop after a history degree.

The tandem will be in the spotlight this weekend at the first edition of the Levallois Chocolate Show, to showcase their know-how.
