Slaughterhouse in Bamberg looks into an uncertain future – employees facing job loss?

“Because the battle figures can no longer be calculated, a liquidity bottleneck arises, which now forces action,” explained the city administration.

The decision on the future of the slaughterhouse, originally scheduled for June, has now been brought forward.

The city council is scheduled to discuss the new situation on March 20th.

According to city data, a major customer is delivering fewer animals for slaughter, resulting in a weekly shortfall of 350 cattle needed to make the operation profitable.

This results in the slaughterhouse recording a weekly deficit of 40,000 euros.

Those responsible point out that the entire industry is currently in an uncertain situation.
