An investigation for
“apology of terrorism”
was opened after the distribution of leaflets signed FLNC (Editor's note: Corsican National Liberation Front) Thursday February 29 during a student evening in Corte (Haute-Corse), announced the Bastia prosecutor to AFP on Friday.
The leaflets, still not authenticated but using the usual codes of the clandestine organization, had been given to participants in the
“international youth meetings”
organized each year by the pro-independence student association Ghjuventù Indipendentista (Editor's note: Jeunesse independiste).
“National Liberation Struggle”
The authors of the text, who believe that
"the FLNC remains the main tool for the emancipation of the Corsican people"
, call on students to strengthen the ranks of the movement.
“The student world of Corte must continue to fully play its role in the national liberation struggle
,” continue the authors of the leaflet.
“Those who feel the strength can join the clandestine action but not only that, there is also the requirement to strengthen all levels of the daily fight for the survival of a people,”
they write, evoking in particular the need for historians, economists, IT and multimedia specialists and even engineers
“to fuel the struggle and build the fight of tomorrow”
.
Demonstration planned for Saturday
This distribution of leaflets took place three days after Gérald Darmanin received Corsican elected officials in Beauvau, as part of the process towards possible autonomy for the island, and two days before the two years since the fatal attack on 'Yvan Colonna, while he was serving his life sentence for his participation in the commando responsible for the assassination of prefect Érignac in Ajaccio in 1998.
Saturday, the second anniversary of the attack on the independence activist in his cell in Arles prison, a demonstration is to take place in Bastia, at the call of nationalist organizations,
“against repression and for the defense of the rights of the people Corsica"
.
The FLNC, which appeared for the first time in 1976, with a profession of faith found in the rubble of 18 attacks during a first
“blue night”
, has since become an opaque nebula, the result of splits, fratricidal struggles and recompositions.
