Holidaymakers from Saxony-Anhalt called the emergency number on Dreisesselberg.

The result was that the mountain rescue service was deployed, and a rescue helicopter also had to be deployed.

Bischofswiesener Forest - Holidaymakers were in distress while descending from Dreisesselberg because of all the old snow and had to be rescued.

The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) will provide information about this in a press release on Friday, March 1st.

The two hikers from Saxony-Anhalt had taken the cable car to the Pfarrstuhl and wanted to return to the valley on foot via the Dreisesselberg.

At around 4:50 p.m. they made an emergency call because they could no longer find the further route of the summer path near Lake Steinberg due to the amount of old snow.

Mountain rescue rescues holidaymakers and flies them into the valley

The Traunstein rescue helicopter “Christoph 14” therefore picked up two mountain rescuers.

After a short search, the duo was found a good distance off the path.

The helicopter dropped both rescuers there with the winch.

The man (60) and the woman (61) were secured in rescue seats, "so that the helicopter could winch them in two approaches and fly them into the valley in the last light of day," as the BRK finally reports.
