The dismissal of half of the political structure of the
Matanza Riachuelo Basin Authority (ACUMAR)
generated a mobilization of the ATE unions this afternoon, which demonstrated at the door of the offices of the autonomous entity in the Microcenter.
There, in addition, various bomb threats
were recorded .
The call took place
in Esmeralda at 255
, in the building known as "YPF".
There are the facilities of ACUMAR and the Ministry of Territorial Development, Habitat and Housing, in addition to the offices of the oil company, which received a bomb threat for which the City Police had to intervene.
The protest was launched by the ATE union after the dismissal of 50 percent of the political and expense structure in the tripartite organization that is in charge of the sanitation of the Matanza-Riachuelo Basin.
"During the last years of Alberto Fernández's administration,
the political structure of the organization doubled, with political positions growing by 100%
, a similar situation in terms of personnel," the authorities indicated.
During that period, Martín Sabbatella was at the head of the organization.
The unions propose that the massive dismissals are based on "political issues", while they assure that the majority of the displacements refer to employees who were incorporated between 2019 and 2023.
Due to this situation,
UPCN declared itself in a "state of alert",
while ATE, for its part, called a General Assembly of Workers that was convened for noon.
ACUMAR is currently led by Lucas Figueroa, who had already served in the position during Mauricio Macri's administration.
Figueroa was named president in an appointment on January 4: the official text was signed by Javier Milei and the then Minister of Infrastructure, Guillermo Ferraro, now out of the Government.
The bomb threats to the Acumar building caused the protocol of the Explosives Division of the Federal Police to be activated, where a case was filed for "public intimidation" that fell to the court of Judge Casanello.
The City Police also acted due to another threat that Acumar received.
It was a call from a male voice that, at 11:30, indicated that there was a bomb on the 8th floor, where there are YPF offices.
ACUMAR is the public body created in November 2006 as a result of the lawsuit known as the Mendoza Cause, where the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a group of residents of Villa Inflamable, in Avellaneda,
ordering the recomposition of the environment, the creation of a fund to finance the sanitation
of the Basin and financial compensation for damages.
