A fire destroyed the temporary accommodation of a homeless person on the edge of the commercial area in Unterhaching.

The man probably suffered smoke inhalation in the fire.

Unterhaching - Shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday, the first police and first responder emergency vehicles raced with flashing lights and sirens to a parking lot on Grünwalder Weg, which is used by the nearby Holiday Inn Hotel: According to the fire department, there was a message in the small strip of forest, which surrounds the parking area, a caravan and its wooden shed are in flames.

A homeless person is said to have lived in the trailer years ago.

There were also several objects lying around the shed that were already burning when the emergency services arrived.

Man suffers from smoke inhalation

The resident of the caravan was able to get to safety himself, but was treated by the emergency services with suspected smoke poisoning and then taken to a hospital, as the fire department reports.

The Unterhaching fire rescue workers were supported by a fire engine from the Taufkirchner fire department.

A total of 57 fire fighters were on duty.

The extinguishing work was finished around 11 p.m.
