It's a deal that will probably make even Munich's chic crowd sit up and take notice: a private individual is said to have purchased an entire “ensemble” on Maximilianstrasse.
Munich - The property is described as a “rare jewel of the Munich real estate market”.
With good reason: We are talking about an ensemble of office and commercial buildings at Maximilianstrasse 12-14 and Falkenturmstrasse 5-7.
This very “jewel” has now been sold.
The buyer?
Unknown.
Commerz Real, which confirmed the deal in a press release, explained that they had also “agreed not to disclose” the sales price.
Munich: Private individual buys commercial building on Maximilianstrasse for 250 million euros
However, you don't need any explicit knowledge of real estate or Munich to have rough speculations in your head about the dizzying sums that must have made this deal possible.
As Munich's boulevard, Maximilianstraße stands for pure luxury; only the tram tracks indicate that ordinary mortals also stroll here.
The project, which has now been acquired privately, still stands out here.
Built in 1867, according to Commerz Real in an official statement, the property has a land area of almost 1,600 square meters and a rental area of around 6,100 square meters.
There are offices on the upper floors, and there is also a hotel and two apartments facing Falkenturmstrasse.

Crazy deal on Munich's Maximilianstrasse: private individual buys for a quarter of a billion euros
However, research by the
Süddeutsche Zeitung
sheds light on the question of what financial dimensions the deal has - and who could be behind it.
According to information from “industry circles”, there is actually a single person from Europe on the buyer’s side - but probably not prominent.
According to the newspaper, which also refers to industry circles, the total value paid should be 250 million euros.
“The current market situation and the rapid action of everyone involved have allowed us to acquire a rare jewel of the Munich real estate market for our client,” explains Kerstin Struckmann from Commerz Real in an official statement.
This means that the anonymous “person” is likely to portray many wealthy people as mere mortals even on the moneyed Maximilianstrasse - like those who use the tram along the boulevard.
