In his offices on rue de Rivoli, in Paris, François Hollande always closely monitors French political life.
The former President of the Republic still follows the news with great gusto.
Some will say that he is on the lookout, ready to emerge again if the opportunity arises, like Raminagrobis from La Fontaine's fable.
François Hollande knows that it is too early to discover himself and that the result of the next European elections will determine whether a path is possible for the left in 2027.
If, as the polls of voting intentions suggest, the socialist list led by Raphaël Glucksmann manages to exceed 10% on June 9 and that that supported by Emmanuel Macron does not cross 20%, the hopes of seeing the left reformist return to the forefront of the political scene are reborn.
Give hope
But if this left wants to return to power, François Hollande warns:
