A gas research institute was inaugurated in Algiers by the Exporters Forum.
The Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab presided over the official ceremony, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Forum, Mohamed Hamel, the CEO of the state hydrocarbon company Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, and representatives of Russia and Qatar.
"The institute will seek to expand cooperation between the Forum's member states in the field of technology and establish a framework for scientific cooperation through the exchange of information, support for innovation, sharing of expertise and skills as well as training," it said. a note from the ministry.
One of the first topics to explore, adds the note, is how to reduce the quantity of gas burned and find effective and innovative technological solutions that allow natural gas to improve its role in the global energy transition.
