For the inhabitants of Pessac (Gironde), it is the end of a nightmare.
The
“serial breaker”
of car windows, responsible for numerous vehicles vandalized, with sometimes anecdotal thefts, has been identified and admitted the facts.
Initially numbering 99, he ultimately admitted a total of around 200 thefts from the trailer, which were thus clarified by the national police.
It took two police custody periods for the accused to admit all the facts.
“It is a judicially complicated, laborious and complex job
,” explains the interdepartmental direction of the national police (DIPN).
Questioned about 95 cars broken into in December with the same operating procedure and confronted with evidence collected by investigators, the accused admitted to being the author.
He will be referred and will be tried immediately in March.
Psychiatric disorders
Aged 20, unemployed, this serial window breaker was unable to justify his actions.
He would have acted at random, stealing what he found, and may be suffering from psychiatric disorders, which will have to be proven by medical analyses.
In January, the increase in broken windows and the exasperation of the people of Pessac led the mayor of the town, Franck Raynal, to react by increasing police patrols in these sectors.
