“Few places concentrate as much effort in Paris.

» The message carried by Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy (PS) of the mayor of Paris, was hammered home several times this Thursday evening.

A public meeting was organized by the town hall of the 12th arrondissement to discuss the redevelopment project for Place Henri-Frenay, which adjoins the Gare de Lyon.

For several years, local residents have regularly denounced the “hell” they experience on a daily basis, between noise pollution and a climate of insecurity.

Several actors, such as the police commissioner of the 12th arrondissement, the director of the Lyon station or even a representative of the RIVP – the social landlord who manages the approximately 200 housing units which border the square – were present to respond to them.
