The accused of the murder of police officer Éric Masson, Ilias Akoudad, was finally sentenced to 30 years in prison by the Vaucluse assizes on March 1, at the end of a trial where the young dealer finally confessed, in a twist of theater suddenly, having shot the brigadier, on May 5, 2021 in Avignon.
Two days earlier, in court, Ilias Akoudad, who had denied the facts during his three years of detention, returned to his face-to-face meeting with Éric Masson, when their paths had crossed on the point of deal on rue du Râteau.
The brigadier and one of his colleagues, dressed in civilian clothes, were checking a drug user when the young dealer addressed them:
“What are you doing?
Do you coal?”
