The Tesla Roadster was the first electric car that Elon Musk brought to the public.
Now the CEO is announcing a sensational sports car comeback.
Austin/Munich - In 2006, the Tesla success story took off: Elon Musk and his team presented the first electric car as a start-up, which was to come onto the market two years later (based on the Lotus Elise).
The Tesla Roadster, which was produced between 2008 and 2012, is now history - and Tesla has gone down in history as an electric car pioneer.
With further models, the American manufacturer was able to catapult itself into the top field of car manufacturers.
Now there is news that is not only causing excitement among fans of the brand.
Tesla Roadster returns - presentation later this year
Elon Musk has been toying with a new edition of the Tesla sports car for a long time, and now the return seems to be becoming concrete: After Corona delayed the development of a series-ready successor, the Tesla roadster will soon make a comeback, according to the CEO.
The extremely wealthy entrepreneur announced to his followers on X that they had “radically increased the design goals for the new Tesla Roadster”.
Musk explained that the new Tesla Roadster generation will be presented in 2024 - and production should start the following year.

When the Tesla innovation is launched, the world can expect a radical sports car.
The most powerful versions of Model 3 or Model S already have enormous performance data, and the Tesla Roadster aims to top these values again:

How is that supposed to be possible?
Elon Musk wants to give the sports car a rocket engine.
The Tesla Roadster will be equipped with thrusters from SpaceX, the space project of the South African native.
In another post, Musk explains that this texture is just the “less interesting part”.

So Musk is causing a stir with a rather radical announcement, which raises the question of to what extent the later implementation will live up to the promise.
Separately, more advanced details have leaked:

The Tesla Roadster is supposed to be powered by three electric motors; weaker versions are said to still be able to accelerate in less than two seconds.
Also impressive: the battery should have a capacity of 200 kilowatt hours.
The potential range of the Tesla innovation is 1000 km.

“There will never be a car like this again, if you could even call it a car,” the 52-year-old continues.

Musk last announced in May that the Roadster would return and be launched on the market at the end of 2024.

It is also exciting to see what prices are being offered for the spectacular Tesla innovation.

doubt whether the previously announced 250,000 US dollars for a new roadster can be maintained: much higher prices are demanded on the market for models with similar performance data.
