The property of the former Kreuzer house, which the community inherited, will in future be used as an employee parking lot for the Peiting market.
It is located at the corner of Obere Straße and Schongauer Straße.
Peiting – It is hoped that this will reduce the load on the parking lot at the girls' school (next to Bachstrasse).
The local council said it was becoming increasingly popular.
There are usually hardly any free spaces left there in the morning, but at the latest during the morning.
Kreuzer House: Parking area after demolition
The property of the former Kreuzer house measures almost 500 square meters.
It has been used as a parking area for four years after the building was demolished.
Most recently, the area was primarily used by a Peitingen nursing service as a parking area for vehicles.
Parking time is limited to two hours and use is free of charge.
The nursing service has relocated its business premises.
Since then, the parking lot at the corner of Obere and Schongauer Straße has been sparsely frequented.
However, in the meantime, due to the relocation of the nursing service, the use of the parking lot at the former girls' school between Bachstrasse and the middle school has increased significantly.
The parking spaces in this area in the town center are used by visitors to the shops and restaurants as well as visitors to the church, the town hall, middle school teachers, employees in the town hall and some residents.
Parking space for employees: “Not fixed for 100 years”
The parking lot at the former Kreuzer Haus should be designated exclusively for market administration employees from Monday to Thursday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Friday mornings.
It can be assumed that there will be twelve parking spaces.
Outside these times, the parking lot could remain freely accessible - without any restrictions on parking time.
Mayor Peter Ostenrieder said the route from the property to the town hall was “not that long”.
Local councilor Tobias Eding (SPD) asked whether marketing the property might be considered.
The mayor replied that if an interested party came, they could still respond.
The use of the municipality's employee parking space is “not fixed for 100 years”.
