Tired of failures in love, a woman found the solution through
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
:
she created her perfect boyfriend using the best of her ex-partners.
And soon they are going to get married.
The story of
Alicia Framis
, of course, is not the typical one that can be seen in romantic movies or series.
But anyway she pursues the same goal: a happy ending.
AILex
was trained on the profile information of previous boyfriends, which does not necessarily, of course, prepare you or guarantee a long and harmonious relationship.
But Alicia, a Catalan artist with an open mind and futuristic thinking, is hopeful that this new frontier in relationships will work.
"We know that soon
robots and humans will be sexual partners
," the woman said, according to the British newspaper
Metro.
He added: "But for me, the next important step is
to emotionally engage artificial intelligence
with humans."
But the woman went further and opened her heart: "
Holograms are more closely related to my feelings
than robots, so I choose to develop a hologram instead of a robot."
AILex was trained on the profile information of Alicia's previous boyfriends.
Marriage with her boyfriend made with AI
The wedding of Alicia and her new partner will take place at the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
In addition to a ceremony that will include a "unique ritual for
the union between a human and an avatar
," the wedding breakfast will be made with "
molecular food
that can be enjoyed by both humans and humanoid entities," he says.
The details of what this means exactly have not been revealed, local media report.
The event, which appears to be a
work of performance art
, will not be the first time that Alicia explores the limits of love and loneliness.
How to combat loneliness and your ex-partner mannequin
For Alicia Framis.
"Soon robots and humans will be sexual partners."
It was in 1995 when this artist first
moved with a mannequin and lived in France
with her plastic partner Villeneuve.
"Since then, I developed many projects with different communities about
specific loneliness in cities
, and I develop tools to help people have better possibilities of living together," she tried to be more in-depth about the goal she pursues.
As she now prepares to marry a hologram, Alicia posted a series of photos that appear to show them
going about their daily activities.
Given the insistence of journalists seeking information about the technology behind the hologram, she preferred to remain hermetic.
However, one video appears to show her having dinner with AILex and then arguing like a normal couple.
Framis' project has a background about loneliness in cities.
"If you're not there, I miss you so much," AILex said.
"And then, when you are there, you often irritate me," he continued as if this were a common scene of married life in a house.
What relationships will be like in the future with artificial intelligence
Announcing the wedding, Alicia said: 'AI and human companions can be a beneficial option for people in
need of companionship.
"This hologram
pleases all my needs
," she said.
He added: "It's interesting how we can get a mortgage to buy a new car and now we can have a mortgage to buy a new companion."
And while shopping for a partner may not seem like the most romantic thing in the world, Alicia believes it could be a
springboard into reality.
Alicia and her boyfriend share activities from the daily life of a traditional couple.
"Just as we practice new languages with Duolingo,
we will practice relationships with these entities
," he reflects out loud.
And he pointed to the conclusion that "a new generation of love is emerging, whether we want it or not, in which humans will be married and have
relationships with holograms, avatars, robots and more
."
