“Bergdoktor” star Mark Keller scored 13 points with his slow waltz at the “Let’s Dance” opener last Friday.

The 58-year-old was injured during the live show.

Cologne - Last Friday (February 23rd), “Bergdoktor” star Mark Keller (58) and dance professional Kathrin Menzinger (35) enchanted viewers with a slow waltz in the RTL dance show “Let's Dance”.

What no one would have noticed, however, was that the actor had injured himself during the live show.

After the show we went to the hospital.

Now the dancing couple revealed in an RTL interview what's next for both of them.

“Let's Dance” candidate Mark Keller was injured in the introductory show: “The thumb cracked”

Everything actually looked very smooth and round when Mark Keller floated across the dance floor with his dance partner Kathrin Menzinger during a group dance.

The jury was also impressed by the 58-year-old's performance and awarded the dance with 13 points.

Nevertheless, it was noticed that the “Bergdoktor” star seemed distracted after his performance and kept touching his thumb.

Not a good sign, as it turned out.

In the RTL interview, Mark Keller revealed what really happened during the slow waltz.

“When I lifted it on the show, the strain was different than in training and my thumb cracked,” explained the singer.

“Then I thought: Something is wrong.”

And that's exactly how it was.

“The thumb could be bent downwards like this,” Kathrin Menzinger demonstrated in the interview.

And on site, a doctor concluded that the inner ligament had probably torn.

After injury: This is what continues for “Bergdoktor” star Mark Keller on “Let’s Dance”.

Mark Keller ultimately had to go to the hospital.

The fear of surgery hovered over everything.

But then there was a slight all-clear.

The inner band is only torn.

His journey on “Let’s Dance” isn’t over yet.

However, the training now has restrictions: “Lifting figures are now taboo,” explains Kathrin Menzinger.

Since the left hand is leading, both must continue to be particularly careful.

“Every contact we have has to be more careful,” noted the dance professional.

On Thursday, Kathrin Menzinger posted a little update on Instagram: “The training was hard, but it was incredibly fun.

We're really looking forward to tomorrow and hope you'll be there." In the March 1st edition of "Let's Dance", the dancing couple will present a cha-cha-cha to "Loco in Acapulco" by The Four Tops.
