The attempted assassination of the senior member of the crime organization Eli Mosley last month was a reminder of the long-standing conflict between the various crime organizations, which resulted in a bloody crime war in the center of the country.

This is about a conflict that in one short moment could have exploded (literally) in the central Bogarshov Street in Tel Aviv in a brutal way, and resulted in the murder of innocent people.

The background to that event is the long conflict between the heads of the crime organizations and the known targets of the police, the Mosley family and Eran Haya.

After many years, during which they were friends and allies, a financial dispute between them turned into a dangerous criminal war.

"As soon as a conflict is born between two such powerful organizations - it leads to a bloodbath," explained retired TNA Nissim Daudi, who in the past was head of the interrogation faction in the central unit of the Tel Aviv district and commander of the Tel Aviv North station. "As always with criminals, the conflict was over Money and respect.

If you take all the conflicts there are between criminals, it's always about these two things.

There were claims about taking over businesses or that one of the parties was above and did not share in such and such profits.

This is where the conflict arose, and only in recent years have you seen it gain a great deal of momentum."

The beginning of the Mosley family was as vegetable sellers in the market.

Their position strengthened significantly towards the end of the 1990s while they expanded their activities in gray market loans, collecting sponsorship fees, gambling and drug trafficking.

The organization is run by the head of the family Nissim, together with his sons Yossi, Eli and Shay.

Today they are already considered some of the most powerful and richest criminals in the country.

"Once they built a financial back for themselves, it allowed them to gain a lot of power and they became the so-called 'kings of the neighborhood,'" explained Daudi.

"Beyond the financial capital and the almost complete control they had there, they also created a lot of alliances, including with Amir Molner and the Haya family. There was a literal 'blood relationship' between them, because they were all involved in this alliance in various assassinations they did for each other."

Eran Haya is the son of Eitan Haya, known as "The Godfather", who founded the Israeli mafia in New York that became a significant force in the city's underworld in the 1980s, and 8 years ago he was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being convicted of money laundering and extortion by threatening borrowers with interest.

The son continued in his father's footsteps outside the prison walls and gained great power and a strong position.

"This man is considered very brave," the former senior officer described him.

"He started his journey on the basis of his father's name and was connected to Molner's organization and Mosley's organization in a very strong way, and over time he took a formidable position in the matter of committing murders. He was known to have many soldiers and alliances, including with Arab criminal organizations and the Mosley family ".

For years, Haya has been running his organization from abroad. Among the countries he moved to were Turkey, Dubai, on the European continent, and some say in Southeast Asia. "His power is still known and known here in Israel to all the criminal organizations," explained retired TNA Daudi.

"The criminals here know what he is capable of doing and he knows how to use his people here inside the country. He has his soldiers and connections here in Israel."

Elimination after elimination

After many incidents of setting cars on fire and throwing stun grenades, tensions heated up and escalated after an explosive device was placed under Eli Mosley's car last year at his home in the Kfar Shalem neighborhood of Tel Aviv.

According to the suspicion, a man on behalf of Haya tried to assassinate Mosley and fled the scene.

Although his life was spared, Mosley's revenge was not long in coming.

In April, 24-year-old Baruch Borochov, who was suspected among criminal officials of having attempted to assassinate Mosley, was murdered in Rishon Lezion after being shot in the head by masked assassins while he was sleeping in bed.

After that, the ball returned to the hands of the Haya organization.

In the same month, Lior Greenberg (40) from Holon, who is affiliated with the Mosley organization, was shot to death by motorcyclists who fled the scene.

Also in the recent period, many incidents of burning vehicles and throwing grenades at houses were recorded in Gush Dan, including at houses where associates of a well-known businessman who is considered close to Eran Haya, an activist in the capital market, who was previously investigated by the police regarding fraud, tax and money laundering offenses, live.

In addition to the conflict with Haya, the Mosley family manages another front against the head of the well-known criminal organization Odeh Kotier, who operates in the Triangle and Sharon area.

Thus a joint coalition of the two against Mosley was formed.

"When we're talking about an organization like Eran Haya's together with Odeh Cottier's organization that has hundreds of soldiers and many, many soldiers from the Arab sector who obey his so-called orders, then such a connection between Eran Haya and Odeh Cottier is a deadly connection," says Daudi.

The dramatic investigation that led to the indictment filed this week against 7 people involved began a few months ago when the wife of the criminal Ben Cohen "the little one", who is identified with Mosley, found an explosive device under her car and called the police.

"We also find cameras, technological means and collect evidence that leads us to one of the suspects in the case," reiterated Corporal Avi Goldstein, head of the interrogation division in the central unit of the Tel Aviv district. Eli Mosley.

From here we are after them."

Last month, two of the suspects arrived with stolen motorcycles near a hotel where Eli Mosley was staying, while one of them wears a mask and disguises himself as a Walt messenger, and this without knowing that the Israel Defense Forces investigators were following them as part of an undercover investigation. "We were afraid that there would be a real attack here," shared Raf K. Goldstein.

"There is no stopping them. This group is a group that, if this explosive device had really exploded, innocent people would have been injured. This is a very great achievement of the Tel Aviv District Court and the Israel Police and everyone who participated.

We succeeded in the mission at the moment and I believe that we will succeed in the future as well."

From that moment when the suspects were arrested "red handed" before the explosion, arrests were quickly made and during the investigation a great achievement was recorded when one of the suspects from the ranks of Haya's organization was recruited as a state witness. Many sources who comment on the details believe that this is an incident dramatic which may further lead to broad and significant investigations. It should be noted that in the indictment filed this week against those involved, Haya's name himself was written numerous times, and although the indictment was not filed against him, it attributes to him the ordering of the murder and frequent contact with the suspects. In a press release issued by The prosecutor's office hinted at their intention to bring about the indictment of Haya in the future. "The prosecutor's office is doing and will do to bring all those involved in her serious case to justice," it says. The police hope for a conviction like it was in the case of Odeh Cottier, who also in the case in which he is involved signed a state witness agreement with one of the people of The head of the crime organization.

Retired TNA Daudi estimates that the parties will no longer reach a "forgiveness" between them, but that the conflict will only continue and escalate. "From my experience, there is a certain stage that once it passes, some kind of blood revenge must come," he explained. "Once it passes a certain stage , so there is usually no forgiveness, but I do not rule out a situation where someone like Molner intervenes, for example, to bring the two parties together and they arrive at financial compensation between them and go to agreed arbitration, I have also come across such things in the past.

But according to how I see the conflict now, more events like the one we experienced last week are expected."

Despite the great achievement of the police, the question arises, how will this affect the normative citizen and strengthen his security?

Because any imprisonment of a criminal from the world of organized crime in the prison walls, may only create a "vacuum" that will be filled by a dangerous criminal in his place.

Prof. Goldstein believes that the arrest of criminals, as in the incident of Mosley's assassination attempt, results in the saving of innocent lives. "Certainly there is a concern that a simple, normal citizen who came and walked with his wife on a day like this in Tel Aviv - could have been harmed," argued Prof. Goldstein.

"If they come and tell me: 'Listen, we put Molnar in prison for life,' then I will say that now life in this country is safer?", added retired TNA Daudi. "But will it last for long?

It is not, because instead of Molner or Mosley or Haya, another criminal will now enter this space and the crime will continue.

Crime is the way of the world in every society, but it's good that there are police units at the top of the world and they do the job and prevent serious incidents."
