The police in the Mittenwald area were concerned about two accidents involving wild animals.
Fortunately, the car occupants remained uninjured.
However, there was extensive damage to the vehicles.
Mittenwald - On Monday evening (February 26th), a driver collided with a deer on the B2 around 8:40 p.m.
According to the police, the 46-year-old vacationer from Baden-Württemberg was driving her BMW towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen when a deer suddenly crossed the road shortly after the Isarhorn.
According to police, a collision was unavoidable for the driver; the animal hit the vehicle head-on.
The driver remained uninjured.
The deer ran further into the adjacent forest and the responsible hunting manager was notified.
The BMW suffered material damage amounting to at least 3,000 euros.
After the wildlife accident near Mittenwald, the BMW was no longer drivable and had to be towed away
A second wildlife accident late on Sunday evening (February 25th) also caused extensive damage of around 15,000 euros on the B2 near Mittenwald.
According to the police, a 21-year-old Austrian was driving his BMW on the federal highway in the direction of Mittenwald around 9 p.m. when a deer jumped onto the road shortly after the parking lot at the Isarstausee.
According to police, a collision was unavoidable for the young man - the vehicle collided head-on with the animal.
Fortunately, neither the driver nor his 53-year-old passenger were injured.
However, the front of the BMW was so badly damaged that it had to be towed away in a non-roadworthy condition.
