In a press release, the Var prefecture also indicated that requisitions had been taken to increase identity checks, the opening of vehicle trunks and the search of luggage in the Val des Rougières sector.

This city of Hyères, known for harboring vast drug trafficking, has become one of the priority targets of the department's authorities who are trying to stem the expansion of local drug traffickers.

Several arrest and drug seizure operations were carried out there to destabilize the drug network.
