Ángel Di María
was denounced by the
Portuguese Referees Association
for having criticized
Fábio Veríssimo
, the referee who officiated the first leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-final between
Benfica
and Sporting Lisbon.
On this occasion, to present the claim, the entity used as an argument a phrase that Fideo
published
on its social networks in which, without giving names, it pointed out against the refereeing for having disallowed a goal that could have sealed the tie.
"What can we say about yesterday? What happened was visible to everyone.
We will continue working to achieve our goals. Alone against everyone
," the footballer wrote after the defeat.
With this scenario at hand, the
Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation
will have to decide whether or not to sanction the winger of the Argentine National Team.

With 23 matches played,
Benfica is the only leader in the Portuguese First Division with 58 points
.
So far, those led by Roger Schmidt have won 18, drawn four and lost one.
However, they cannot be distracted because Sporting Lisbon is second, just two units ahead.
At the same time, the team of
Ángel Di María and Nicolás Otamendi
is in the round of 16 of the Europa League (where they will face Rangers on March 7) and in the semifinal of the Portuguese Cup, where they are forced to come back after losing 2 to 1 in the first leg.
