A woman shares a photo of a strange sign from Bavaria on X (Twitter).

Under the post, users of the platform speculate what it could mean.

Munich - There are round black and white traffic signs around the Holledau motorway triangle on the A9 and A93.

So far only in Bavaria.

And hardly anyone knows what they mean.

An X user (formerly Twitter) discovered another strange sign and shared it on the platform.

“I’m in Bavaria today.

There are strange street signs here that, as an East German by choice with North German roots, I unfortunately don’t understand.”

Curious sign in Bavaria: “At night in the moonlight, hunters crawl across the street with a pint of beer”

Seen in the photo: A person wearing a hat and crawling - apparently with a weapon and a mass in his hand.

A crescent moon can be seen above the crawling person.

What does that mean?

“Um... well... I've always been in Bavaria, and I don't understand the sign either,” someone admits directly.

“At night in the moonlight, hunters crawl across the street with a pint of beer?” says one person, questioning his assumption about the photo.

“Just don’t hit the drunk hunter who’s crawling home from the inn at night.

Greetings from Munich,” another user replies ironically.

“Don’t drink and shoot at the same time at night,” suspects another X user.

“Beware of witches”: traffic sign from Bavaria is causing speculation online

“I’ll just say: be careful of the hunting area,” is one comment.

And another person shows humor and writes about several salmon smileys: “At first I thought it represented a witch on a broom, so be careful of witches?

The hunting area obviously makes a lot more sense.”

“We warn against weak participants”: Curious sign for the shooting festival?

A quick Google search reveals another option.

A photo on a website shows a similar sign to the one that the X user photographed in Bavaria.

And that has to do with a shooting festival: “Traffic sign - Caution - shooting festival - We warn against weak participants,” is the description of the item.

Another website also has the sign “with a shooting festival motif” on offer.

A search at the photo agency

Ima

go with the words “Schild Schützenfest” confirms the assumption.

And that could actually be the solution to the mystery, because: “There was a rifle lodge nearby,” the woman writes under her original X post
