The farmer's market in Dorfen will soon have a birthday, and a big one at that: in March it will be 30 years, that's how long the farmers from the region have been marketing their own products here every Friday.

The operators and their customers not only attach great importance to good products, but also donate to organizations that do good locally.

Dorfen - They are an eye-catcher: The wooden bunnies, surrounded by primroses and catkins, are currently enchanting customers in the Albrecht-Stadl at the Isen-Weir.

During Advent, little Santa Clauses stood between fir branches in the entrance area of the farmers' market.

The wooden works of art that Peter Breth creates for each season cost ten euros and are the basis for the donations that the farmers' market team can hand over twice a year.

“On top of that, there are tips that you can throw directly into the colorful piggy bank next to the cash register,” explains market manager Heidi Lechner.

“A lot of things came together before Christmas,” she adds.

It was her idea this year to hand over the check for 1,400 euros to the crisis intervention team (KIT) of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) in the district.

Danuta Pfanzelt, deputy head of the Psychosocial Emergency Care Department (PSNV), was very pleased about the generous donation.

“God bless you.

The money is well invested for us because KIT is financed exclusively through donations,” said the BRK spokeswoman.

Pfanzelt is one of 18 volunteers in the region who are available around the clock to provide first aid for the soul.

“We are there when the police have to deliver the news of death after an accident,” she says of the emergency operations in Dorfen and Erding.

The crisis intervention service is called if, for example, a train has run over a person to look after the train driver.

But KIT is also regularly involved in resuscitation at home, as well as after traffic and work accidents.

Last but not least, psychological support is provided after attacks and rapes.

“We want to prevent victims and survivors from developing post-traumatic stress disorder.”

The diverse fundraising campaigns are part of the reputation of the Dorfen farmers' market, as is the extensive offering, which ranges from cakes, meat, sausage, cheese, eggs and bread to vegetables, fruit, jam and vinegar or even home-made distilled products.

“Fresh from the surrounding area to the table is our motto,” remembers Klaus Blasi when the club was founded exactly 30 years ago.

At that time, 31 direct marketers from Dorfen came together - a successful model, as the chairman describes it.

The Albrecht-Stadl has now become a permanent institution.

Not just for carrots, pumpkins and potatoes, but also for cakes and “good conversations,” says regular customer Rita Daffner from Dorfen, who comes here regularly on Fridays.

Max Huber from Grüntegernbach sees it the same way: “You meet nice people to chat to – and of course the quality of the fresh products directly from the producer is also impressive.”

“We want to celebrate our 30th birthday accordingly,” says Chairman Blasi.

“There will be an anniversary market on Friday, March 8th, and every customer will be given a flower,” he announces.

On Sunday, March 10th, there is a mid-fastening market in Dorfen and the official celebration with lunch and music.

It starts at 11am.
