Marianne and Michael will soon be retiring, but because the hit duo had to deal with angry fans, the two are now making new plans.
Baldham – Hardly any married couple has enriched the popular hit in such a long-term way as Marianne (71) and Michael Hartl (74).
But even true legends long for retirement at some point - plans that the couple, who have been married since 1979, now want to put into action.
But that is easier said than done.
Angry hit fans: Marianne and Michael have to change their plans
Marianne and Michael are currently on a farewell tour that is scheduled to last until the end of April.
The concerts take the couple all over Germany.
However, one federal state is left out: of all things, beautiful Bavaria, where Marianne herself comes from and where the couple still lives today.
Now the fans in the Free State should still get their money's worth, as Marianne revealed to the
evening newspaper
: "Our fans celebrate us incredibly, which gives us joy, goosebumps and gratitude.
But many were also really angry and complained about why we weren’t coming to Bavaria,” said the 71-year-old.
Now the waves should be smoothed out, because several additional concerts have recently been announced for the Bavarian region for November.
Marianne and Michael: an award-winning life
Marianne and Michael, who have been married since 1979, have been on stage together since the early 1970s.
Their work in pop and folk music has earned the couple countless prizes and awards, including the Hermann Löns Medal (1983), the Bambi (1990), the Golden Tuning Fork (1997), the Crown of Folk Music (1998, 1999, 2003) and the Golden Hen for her life's work (2007).
Retirement postponed: Marianne and Michael will be on stage again in November
However, exact dates have not yet been communicated.
For Marianne and her husband Michael, who is still recovering from his stroke, after the tentative end of the tour (on April 28th in Suhl), they will take a well-deserved break as planned: the hit duo will travel together by boat in the summer along the Croatian coast.
“We now have to enjoy the golden years quickly, in a continuous cycle,” said the singer in a recent interview with “Brisant” (Das Erste).

Strengthened and well-rested, the two of them will have the last concerts of their careers at the end of the year before it is finally over.
Another pop star is currently not concerned with retirement, but with another, very unpleasant topic: just a few days after the death of his wife, Amigos star Karl-Heinz (75) received a bold offer.
