The inter-municipal call bus hoki plus has been running since Friday.

However, it has new names in the communities in the expansion area, at least in the app.

Holzkirchen - It didn't take 25 minutes before the first inter-communal trip was already booked on Friday, the start date for hoki plus.

“This is a sign of the great demand,” said Holzkirchen’s mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU) at the official presentation of the expanded offer on Friday in front of the town hall, which was also attended by district administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU), Otterfing’s mayor Michael Falkenhahn (SPD). , Valley's mayor Bernhard Schäfer (FWG), Warngau's second mayor Leonhard Obermüller (CSU) and omobi managing director Clemens Deyerling came.

As reported, the on-call bus now runs beyond the borders of Holzkirchen to and in Otterfing, Valley and Warngau (here only in the north).

This means 150 additional stopping points, 65 in Valley, 29 in Otterfing and 56 in Warngau.

In total, hoki plus now serves 400 breakpoints.

Although: Not him alone.

Otti, Valli and Warni support him.

That's what the buses are now called - and only - in the app, as Hoki manager Eva Schmitz explained.

Fleet expanded to include an electric bus

In order to accommodate the expansion, the transport service provider omobi, based in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, is putting a third minibus on the road, a Mercedes eVito with an electric drive.

It has a range of around 360 kilometers, says Deyerling.

Six permanent drivers as well as additional temporary and part-time drivers are only deployed for hoki, Otti, Valli and Warni.

“Of course, the shortage of skilled workers doesn’t stop us, but we try to offer modern work, fair pay and a good working atmosphere, so we have managed to find drivers so far,” says Deyerling.

However, the pool from which he can recruit is also larger than that for bus drivers.

In order to be able to drive the eight-seater with sliding side doors, a vehicle driving license is sufficient.

The district finances inter-municipal trips

The operating hours remain the same, Monday to Thursday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday to 1 a.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.

However, the hoki-plus communities can request longer operating hours one month in advance, for example if a wine festival is coming up, reports Schmitz.

As before, passengers can call the bus by phone or via the app.

According to Deyerling, 30 percent book by phone and 70 percent via app.

The district also contributes to the financing.

He pays a maximum of 150,000 euros per year for inter-municipal trips.

Anything beyond that must be borne by the communities involved.

They also pay for trips within their area, Holzkirchen 100,000 euros annually, Otterfing 40,000 euros, Valley 28,000 euros and Warngau 20,750 euros.

“Public money is well invested at this point,” said Schmid.

No other municipal project is so well received by citizens.

Hoki plus points with speed, timing and tariff.

“If the three Ts work, public transport is successful,” says Schmid.

He has the feeling that stationary traffic has decreased since Hoki came into being.

District administrator assesses on-demand transport as sustainable

Löwis explained: “We consider on-demand transport to be sustainable.” The aim is to roll out the model across the district.

“Perhaps we will even expand the system to the entire Oberland region.” Falkenhahn said: “I am pleased that we have launched hoki plus together.” Schäfer explained: “We are very focused on Holzkirchen, so it is good “That young and old now have the opportunity to come to Holzkirchen.” Obermüller said addressed to Holzkirchen: “Thank you for your courage and your innovation!”
