Frasdorf - After eleven hours of driving in an unheated hold without seats, a group of Syrian refugees was abandoned in a forest near Rosenheim.
The federal police gave further details in a press release on Saturday (March 2nd).
Refugees come to Bavaria in vans: without heating, without a toilet
15 men and three young people got into the van in Slovenia and had to wait on the floor of the vehicle.
The federal police reported that they were not even allowed to get out during a fuel stop.
The refugees couldn't go to the toilets.
There was a plastic bottle for emergency needs.
Police officers discovered the disoriented people on Friday morning in a forest near Frasdorf (Rosenheim district).
The unknown smuggler is now being investigated.
Men come to reception centers in Munich
With the help of interpreters, the police found out that the trip was probably the last stage of an organized smuggling operation.
One of the young people reported that his parents had paid 16,000 euros for the trip to Germany.
After his arrival in Bosnia, he had to add another 4,000 euros.
The three minors, aged 14, 15 and 17, were taken into the care of the youth welfare office.
13 men were taken to the reception center for refugees in Munich.
Two Syrians went back to Croatia, as the federal police explained.
They are already part of an asylum procedure there.
