A 42-year-old driver collided with a police radio car while fleeing a checkpoint on the A100 in Charlottenburg.
He suffered a head injury late on Friday evening and was taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment, the police announced on Saturday.
Two police officers in the car involved also complained of headaches.
Berlin - Both were treated as outpatients in hospital with head injuries and were unable to continue their duties.
Accordingly, the police wanted to check the car at around 11 p.m. because it was speeding.
The 42-year-old then fled south in the car on the A100, then turned around and fled further north.
According to initial findings, shortly before the Tegeler Weg entrance, the car veered off the road to the left and crashed into the guardrail.
He then collided with the radio van of the police officers who were chasing him.
After the accident, he fled on foot, but was then arrested by emergency services.
The A100 was temporarily closed because the accident was being recorded.
According to police, the 42-year-old's blood was also taken at the hospital.
There is also suspicion that the driver does not have a valid driver's license.
The car was confiscated.
The investigation is ongoing.
The “BZ” (online) had previously reported on it.
