A British-owned cargo ship, which was attacked last month by the Houthi rebels, sank in the southern Red Sea - this is what the Yemeni government said today (Saturday).
If the Yemeni government's announcement, recognized by the international community, is true, it would be the first vessel to sink since Iran-backed rebels began their attacks on commercial ships in November.
The Yemeni government, based in the city of Aden, said that the ship "Robimmer" sank during the night, and it warned of an "environmental disaster".
The ship had more than 41,000 tons of fertilizers at the time of the attack, according to the US military.
The Houthis, undeterred by the air campaign conducted by the United States and Britain against them since the beginning of the year, promise to continue their attacks until the war in Gaza is stopped.
