A fire squad from the city of Louisville, Kentucky, rescued this Friday the driver of a truck that was left hanging from a bridge over the Ohio River.
Three vehicles were involved in the accident that occurred on the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge, which connects Louisville with southern Indiana, Fire Chief Brian O'Neill said during a news conference.

It took about 40 minutes to set up a rope system and find someone ready to rappel down into the cab of the trailer, hook the driver into a safety harness and get her out safely, the Louisville fire chief said. .
She was later taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Another person involved in the accident was immediately taken to the hospital.
“They train for these types of situations all the time,” O'Neill said of the rescue.
The firefighters were prepared and the operation went smoothly thanks to his training, he added.
"They are definitely heroes," he said.
"It was really professional, well practiced and well trained. They went out and rescued her."
Louisville Metro Police are investigating the crash and reported that the bridge remained closed Friday afternoon in both directions.

A safety inspection of the bridge will be conducted after all vehicles are removed, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said.
