With a very notable advance in 32 laps of work,
the Argentine Franco Colapinto finished sixth in the Formula 2 test
that took place this Saturday at the Bahrain International Autodrome, in Sakhir, adding his first points of the year and thus completing with a smile his first weekend of competition in the season of the category that serves as the opening act for Formula 1.
The driver born 20 years ago in Pilar, who on Friday had finished 18th in the sprint race as a result of a 10-second penalty for incorrectly positioning his vehicle at the start,
started on Saturday from 15th place
, but Thanks to a good tire strategy and bold driving, he advanced to the points zone: thanks to his sixth place,
he collected his first eight points of the year.
“
The whole race was risky, I had to make many overtakes at the limit.
It was a good competition, with a good result for me, after a somewhat frustrating classification
.
"Having recovered so much today and having had a good pace leaves me a little happier for what's to come," highlighted the
MP Motorsport
team driver ,
who is also a member of the Williams Academy.
