A young woman keeps her deceased grandmother's ashes at home.
After a wash cycle, she discovers the remains in the drum.
Norfolk - If the washing machine has done its job, the excitement can be a little greater.
Have all the dirt spots come out?
Did all the clothes survive the slingshot ordeal unscathed or is there a new tear or hole to complain about?
English woman washes her grandmother's ashes: "I have no idea how this could have happened"
It is not known what was going through Briley Coates's mind when she opened the washing machine door that day.
The 30-year-old from Norfolk, England, will certainly never forget the wash cycle.
After she had cleared out all the clothes, to her horror she discovered her grandmother at the bottom of the washing drum.
So their remains: the ashes.
The beauty therapist captured the moment in the video, which is only available on the YouTube channel “Caters Clips”.
You can see a small black cloth bag containing a filled plastic bag.
“I have no idea how this could have happened.
“I washed my grandma,” Coates shouts, then bursts out laughing despite the moment of shock.
Grandma's ashes end up in the washing machine: English woman suspects her cat
The English newspapers
Mirror
and
Daily Mail
quote her as follows: “I was very confused and wondered how she got there.
It should actually be in a drawer upstairs.” However, the Brit quickly suspected someone: Menace.
Her two and a half year old Norwegian Forest cat.
The house cat probably came across the ashes by accident.
“He must have pulled the bag out of the drawer when something appeared to be hanging out.” According to Coates, her cat goes by his name, which means “threat” in German.
Rightly so: “I just caught him walking around with the bag in his mouth,” she says.
Apparently a new location is needed for the ash container.
Because Menace seems to have found a new toy.
Which he probably also had fun with on the day of the momentous wash cycle.
Coates suspects that the four-legged friend then dropped the bag into a pile of laundry.
When she carried it to its destination, she apparently did not notice the stowaway.

English woman about deceased grandma: “She always said she would stay close to me”
She takes the whole situation with humor, especially since the ashes don't appear to have been damaged thanks to the plastic bag.
According to Coates, it was more of a sign that her grandma Shirley, who died on December 25, 2020 at the age of 72, according to
Newsweek
, hadn't completely abandoned her: "She always said she would stay close to me and I believe that of things like that.”
The owner of a beauty salon is not the only one in the family: “My mother loves it so much.
She immediately said, “That’s my grandma playing tricks on me.” Sounds like an acquittal for Menace.
