Escaping the cold to the milder south during the dreary winter months sounds tempting.
Vacationing in the off-season comes with advantages.
Wet, cold and uncomfortable.
Winter in Germany can be quite unpleasant.
That's why people often book holidays in warmer climates during this time to escape the cold.
Even if the absolute top temperatures are rarely reached in Spain, Italy and other southern nations at this time of year, it is usually much more pleasant than in Germany.
But is such a vacation worth it in the off-season?

Even outside of the high season, you can have a wonderful time in popular holiday destinations - such as Tenerife in Spain.

1. No crowds of tourists
In the summer months, mass processing is the order of the day in many tourist magnets.
An incredible number of holidaymakers are on the beaches, sights or in the cities.
However, if you travel in the low season, you have the opportunity to enjoy peace and quiet and spend relaxing days in popular tourist locations.
In addition, in the summertime it is sometimes difficult to get tickets for popular attractions, such as the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
This is easier outside of the main season.

Supply and demand are closely related - that is well known.

You can compare the prices of the high season with those of the low season on the common travel portals - the difference is enormous.

3. Milder temperatures
For many German holidaymakers it is simply too hot in the southern countries in summer.
You can't really enjoy your vacation.
For those who prefer it a little cooler, a trip in the off-season is worth it.
On the Spanish holiday island of Tenerife, for example, temperatures reach up to 20 degrees Celsius even in winter - it couldn't be more pleasant.
