Compact review of the year and foresight of upcoming challenges: Mayor Rainer Kopnicky opened the New Year's reception in the meeting room of the town hall.
Königsdorf - Kopnicky first recalled the 125th anniversary celebration of the sick and support association in the summer, to which a delegation from the partner community of the same name Königsdorf in Burgenland (Austria) also traveled.
Christmas tree donation from Königsdorf: High media interest
The Christmas tree donation to the Bavarian capital also caused a media stir.
“Around 280 club members helped to manage the Königsdorfer stand at the Munich Christmas market,” the Kopnicky reported proudly.
This created a strong sense of togetherness among the 22 clubs involved.
“The cooperation was great,” praised the mayor.
In addition, the community became known far beyond the borders of the region.
Accordingly, Kopnicky was confident that the upcoming 2028 anniversary celebrations for the community's 1,250th anniversary can be managed together.
Goal in Königsdorf: bring local political projects to a successful conclusion
Before that, it is important to successfully complete local political projects.
Kopnicky primarily mentioned the new gym building with integrated lunchtime care and the opening of a 23-hectare solar park in Mooseurach. “This will be the largest open-space PV system in southern Upper Bavaria,” announced the mayor.
In collaboration with 17er-Oberlandenergiewende GmbH and Energie Südbayern GmbH, the community wants to focus on regional added value.
Criticism from Königsdorf: Accommodating asylum seekers in shared accommodation is not the solution
Kopnicky criticized the government regarding the accommodation of asylum seekers.
“We prefer decentralized solutions and are against shared accommodation because they make integration more difficult,” the mayor made clear.
He trusts in the commitment of the Königsdorfer Asylum Helpers Circle.

The community is still in a good financial position despite falling tax revenues and multi-million dollar projects.
“We still have to make sure that we have a reserve,” warned Kopnicky before the upcoming budget discussions.
After his speech, club representatives and local councilors took the opportunity to have relaxed conversations at the appetizer buffet.
