In the middle of a fiery speech with which he opens the ordinary sessions of Congress,
Javier Milei
pointed out, although without naming him, against
Alberto Fernández
for the
insurance scandal
that led to his accusation of corruption.
The President questioned the role played by the State and gave the case of insurance as an example that "it does not control, and that what it controls, it
controls poorly to generate a kiosk in every place
."
"Perhaps the insurance case that we have recently seen in the media is the best example. A system designed to generate an intermediary between the different State agencies to
collect returns from each operation
," Milei emphasized.
And along those same lines, he added: "A corrupt system that has generated
hundreds of millions of dollars of returns
that ended up in the pockets of politicians."
Fernández was charged by federal prosecutor Ramiro González, who also accuses the former head of Nación Seguros, Alberto Pagliano, and Héctor Martínez Sosa, for the alleged crime of
fraudulent administration
regarding the suspected negotiations at Anses with the contracting of insurance for retirees. who took loans and the million-dollar commissions that were paid to nearby intermediaries.
The case initiated by the prosecutor is as a result of the complaint filed by lawyer Silvina Martínez.
The maneuver under suspicion began in 2021 when the former president signed a decree that forced state agencies to
contract Nación Seguros
, a company that depends on Banco Nación.
In the middle, a series of brokers appeared, hired by Nación Seguros, who acted as intermediaries and charged a 17% commission for management, well above market percentages.
Earnings from commissions would have been estimated at 300 million pesos per month and $20,000 million annually.
