Shots in Lower Saxony, four dead: The shock is apparently still deep in the two places affected.

Meanwhile, more and more details are becoming public.
The suspect is said to have lived in the Brockel community with his heavily pregnant partner, their child and a dog.
They were in a phase of separation.

It was previously reported that the 33-year-old victim in Bothel was a friend of the shooter's former partner.
According to neighbors, the 30-year-old man and the 50-year-old woman in Scheeßel, who were also shot, were the ex's new partner and his mother.
This information has not been officially confirmed by the police.
A child is among the four fatalities.

According to the dpa, an arrest warrant was issued against the suspect for murder in four cases.
The man was taken to prison.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) expressed his dismay.
“The multiple killings of people in Scheeßel is simply horrific,” the SPD politician told
Spiegel
.
“My feeling is with the relatives of the victims, a crime like this is simply terrible.”

After the fatal shots, the public prosecutor's office provided further information.
The Bundeswehr soldier is said to be 32 years old.
As the district newspaper reported, the suspect was a soldier, but not at the Von Düring barracks in Rotenburg.
What the soldier intended to do with the weapons that were in the car in front of the barracks remains unclear.
That still has to be found out, a police spokesman told the
dpa
.
The investigators are also checking whether the murder weapon came from the Bundeswehr.
According to information from the press agency, no weapon is missing from the Bundeswehr in this context.

The dead 33-year-old is not, as previously reported, the ex-partner of the suspected Bundeswehr soldier, but a friend of his former partner.

The soldiers at the Von Düring barracks in Rotenburg were also alerted during the night, as the district newspaper reports.
They were prepared for the coming of the suspected perpetrator.

At 3:30 a.m. two people were shot in Westervede, a district of Scheeßel, and shortly afterwards a three-year-old child and her 33-year-old mother were shot in Bothel.
It is not yet known how the suspected soldier is related to the victims.
There are no further details about the motive other than the assumption in the family environment.
According to NDR, the man will be brought before a judge today.

Scheeßel – major alarm in the middle of the night.
At around 3:30 a.m. shots were fired in the Westervesede district of Scheeßel on Friday (March 1st), and ten minutes later in Bothel, 15 kilometers away.
The police speak of a “capital crime”.
Four people are dead, including a child.
