A terrible shock and a human toll that is no less terrible.

A traffic accident left two dead and one seriously injured this Friday evening, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on the D1001, near Guignecourt, a village located a few kilometers from Beauvais.

For a reason yet to be determined, two vehicles each traveling in one direction of traffic collided head-on.

A very violent shock which left no chance for the two drivers, a man and a woman, killed instantly.

The passenger in one of the two cars was very seriously injured.

Traffic was interrupted for several hours

Quickly responding to the scene, nearly thirty firefighters with eight emergency vehicles came to the aid of the victims.

Traffic was interrupted in both directions on the D1001 for several hours, forcing other motorists to make a detour via neighboring departmental roads, in particular via the village of Bonlier.

“This traffic accident involved two vehicles which collided head-on and both drivers died,” confirms the public prosecutor of Beauvais, Frédéric Trinh.

The vital prognosis of the passenger of one of the vehicles is compromised. He was airlifted to the Amiens hospital center.
