Pope Francis said Saturday that he is still under the weather after suffering flu-like symptoms for a week and he again got an aide to read out his speech at an audience, having done so several times over the last few days.
"I thank you all. I have prepared a speech, but you can hear I am unable to read it because of bronchitis," the pope said at a meeting to inaugurate the Vatican's judicial year.
He spoke with a rough voice and frequently coughed.
Despite not being well, the pontiff confirmed his engagements for the day, including an audience with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
